Sorry we've been quiet for a while, but you know that just means we're working hard, right?
After his massively successful tour of France last month, Ben Sharpa came down to Cape Town this week for some meetings. He also got in the studio for some major international collaborations.
These collabs have been a long time coming so we're really excited. With our very own super-producer, Hipe, on production you already know the tracks are banging!
The first collaboration is with Puerto Rican Hip Hop artist, Siete Nueve. On working with Sharpa he said, "It's real good to connect PR to the Motherland. I'm a protector of our Afro-Caribbean culture and it's very important to create a bridge to hip-hop as it is universal."
The second collaborator is probably more well know on the African continent, Nigeria's most deadly emcee, Mode9.
Keep it locked for more info about these tracks.

Our good friend and collaborator, Milanese, has just released his latest work, the Lockout EP. The EP features our very own Ben Sharpa after the two performed at various festivals across Europe last summer. This is what Mixmag had to say...
"Razor sharp techy dubstep with killer MC. Milanese, like a more techno-oriented version of The Bug, has made some of the rawest tracks out there, and his sound keeps getting sharper. This mini-album features intense, virtuoso rapping from RQM and rising South African MC, Ben Sharpa, and electronic sounds that writhe and warp around the beat like living things. Dark, strange and very wonderful."
Ben features production by Milanese on his EP, The Sharpaganda Theory: Lesson 1 which was released a few weeks ago. Ben also features Milanese on his full-length album, B. Sharpa which comes out in Europe in February 2009.
For a taste of what to expect from Ben and Milanese, check out this video shot on Milanese's phone at the Dour festival in Belgium...
Our friends at Jarring Effects have just released the 3rd installment of their highly successful JFX Bits series. The two previous compilations were both downloaded over 60,000 times each so you know they're hot!
Ben Sharpa's slamming Sibot-produced B to the E is featured on the compilation that also includes tracks by Ghislain Poirier, Oddatee and Tony Oheix.
JFX Bits #3 is totally FREE, but if you feel like supporting the label and the artists featured on the compilation, you can make a donation on the download page. The compilation is available in MP3 format as either 320kbs (170MB) or 128kbs (80MB).
Check out your boy Ben Sharpa in the latest issue of One Small Seed magazine.
